I think Michael is correct, although the outbreak of world war 1 would
naturally tend to cause a "qualitative shift" in thinking. You might want
also to consult an article by Michael Lowy, "From the Logic of Hegel to the
Finland Station in Petrograd" in the Glasgow journal "Critique" published
by Hillel Ticktin. Incidentally Stalin distrusted "Hegelian" Marxists and
generally had them deported or shot. Luckily Gyorgy Lukacs managed to stay
alive.
