Fellow Students, During my time at Wake Forest, I have had the opportunity to sit on a number of committees, be actively involved in several clubs, and assume leadership positions in a variety of organizations. It is as a direct result of my collective experiences in these organizations that I have come to love Wake Forest. Membership in these groups, nonetheless, has also made me keenly aware of the problems that our University is facing, and has led me to envision ways in which I could become a catalyst for change. It is for this reason that I seek to become your student body president. My platform covers many areas of university life and lays out many plans to make our university the best it can possibly be. Many of these issues present problems that cannot be solved right away; however, it will be my duty as Student Government President to present to you a collection of tangible goals and a vision for the future of Wake Forest that we all can embrace. With your help, there are many things that we can accomplish immediately to make the Wake experience a much better one. If I am elected to be your next president, my primary function will be to look out for your interests. I am not here to promote my own agenda, but to serve you. Thanks for your time, and I look forward to meeting you personally. Jermyn |
