What I do

My primary interest is in the evolution and development of seabird behavior. As a PhD candidate and NSF Graduate Research Fellow at Wake Forest University, I am currently researching the role of hormones in organizing non-parental nestling abuse and other aspects of personality in the Nazca booby. Under an NSF Dissertation Improvement Grant, I am extending this work to investigate gene x environment interactions that may influence abusive behavior and personality. At Willamette University, my research focused on the lateralization of prey delivery and the development of prey manipulation skills in Caspian terns.
