Hugh Nelson Howards
A few details...

I am a professor in the math department at Wake Forest University.

I graduated from Williams College in 1992 where I majored in math and did a thesis on soap bubbles with Frank Morgan. Colin Adams taught me a topology class while I was there and I've been working in topology ever since.

I got my PhD from UC San Diego where I wrote my thesis on 3-manifolds working under Mike Freedman.

I came to Wake in 1997 and have been here ever since.

I was lucky enough to meet my wife here when she took a job in the Wake Forest Department of German and Russian. (That link leads to the department not just my wife). We have 2 kids.

Beyond math I enjoy food, coffee, sports, reading, and too many things to list although I'd like to eventually add some links to good websites about these topics..
