     Here are some general things to think about when using Illustrator:
Illustrator creates VECTOR GRAPHIC files. These files are usually very small in size, so don't be concerned about problems with disk space. Save as many versions of your project as you like.
These files will open (raster) in Adobe Photoshop (PS) for conversion to other file formats. PS 7 and CS will open Illustrator 10 and lower files. Earlier version of PS will need lower version Illustrator files.
Place each element of your project on its own layer and label it appropriately, so you can keep track of elements more easily!

To download the .ai files for the lessons:
Right mouse click on the file name and "Save link target as..." then direct it to the area of your Userdata from where you are working.

SAVE your work every 10-15 minutes!!!
