Get Body Smart - An excellent reference and a place to test your knowledge
This is an introductory course on human gross anatomy that will focus on the skeletal, muscular, nervous and cardiovascular systems (systemic anatomy). You should gain an understanding of the systems that comprise the human body and develop the ability to link the structure of the human body with its function. To complete this course it is required that you be able to: 1) describe/identify anatomical structures with precise, well-defined anatomical terminology, 2) understand the micro-structure of the important systems of the body, 3) understand the relationship between structure and function, 4) understand the relationships between the different systems within a region of the body (regional anatomy), and 5) analyze a movement and determine which muscles are responsible for particular actions.
Open labs allow students to spend time reviewing material outside of the regular lab hours. These labs are supervised by teaching assistants. The role of the teaching assistant is primarily supervision. Students should make every effort to be self sufficient and only call on the TA as a last resort or for clarification should there be confusion over a particular structure. You may only attend open lab for the hours for which you are assigned. Please cooperate with the TAs in this regard.

- There are no mechanisms by which you can earn "extra credit" in this course.
- Exams and quizzes will be graded using the 90-80-70-60 scale. Your raw score for these evaluations will be used in the course grade calculation. I reserve the right to "curve" an exam if the need arises (as opposed to redoing the entire exam).
