Physics 230, Spring 2007
These are the kinds of questions you should expect on test 1.
You should be able to recognize the following kinds of circuits and explain their purpose in two or three sentences:
Given a filter circuit involving resistors, capacitors, and/or inductors, determine |Vin/Vout| and phase shift of Vout with respect to Vin as a function of frequency. Be able to determine the amplitude and phase shift of Vout at on particular frequency, given the amplitude of Vin.
Be able to design a multistage amplifier circuit using conservative design principles for any specified gain, source impedance, and load resistance, that works over a specified frequency range.
You will be able to use CircuitMaker, but you are on your honor not to call up previously designed circuits.
