Future Trips

The itinerary for this summer’s trip (2005) is under development. The trip will travel to Europe with plans to visit the Barcelona area of Spain, the coast of Greece, Slovenia, and Italy. The course has been expanded to examine Lifestyle Behaviors and Chronic Diseases compared to focusing on obesity. We will travel as a group and experience the different environments they offer. Students will learn about the prevalence of various diseases and why there are discrepancies for these countries in relatively close proximity.

The plan for this trip is to spend 6-7 days in each location while taking day trips to interesting places in these regions. We will leave around the first to mid-June and return the first to mid-July. A 5-7 day hut-to-hut hiking adventure in the Dolomites will be part of this trip.

The projected cost (which is subject to change) will be ~$4,000 per student. This will include round-trip air transportation to and from European destinations, lodging, transportation within Europe, generally at least 1 meal per day, and tour costs. Additional financial commitments are for the cost of the summer school registration, transportation to the departing airport in the States, some meals, personal costs, and non-group activities.
