PHY 712 -- Assignment #10
March 3, 1998
- Plot the reflectance for s- and p- polarized light as a function of
incidence angle for various choices of n2 (n') and
n1 (n) = 1.
You may use the maple file "reflectance.mws" in the lecturenotes directory
to help.
Convince yourself that the reflectance does
vanish at the Brewster's angle for p-polarized light and discuss how
this effect is responsible for the effectiveness of polarized sun glasses.
