General Information:

This course represents a survey of classical electrodynamics at the advanced undergraduate and graduate level. In addition to a study of the physical phenomena, this course provides a review of mathematical physics. We will attempt to study the complete textbook, Classical Mechanics by J. D. Jackson (2nd. editions), devoting roughly two lectures to each chapter.

Grading:
It is likely that your grade for the course will be determined by the
following factors:

                    Problem sets* 40%
                    Computational project 20%
                    Exams (including final) 40%

*Problem set solutions can be turned in at any time within one week of their assignment. In general, there will a new assignment after each lecture, so that for optimal learning, it would be best to to complete each assignment before the following lecture. According to the honor system, all work submitted for grading purposes should represent the student's own best efforts. [an error occurred while processing this directive]
