Dr. Teresa Sanhueza was born in Concepción (Chile). She holds a Ph.D in Spanish and Latin American Literature from The University of Michigan (1995). She got her BA in Spanish with Teaching Certification (Profesora de Español) and her MA (Magíster en Literaturas Hispánicas) from The Universidad de Concepción. Her research interests lie in the field of Latin American Theater, especially Chile and Argentina.

She has taught at The University of Michigan (Teaching Assistant), Oberlin College (Visiting Assistant Professor) and at Wake Forest University. She was Assistant Professor from 1996 to 2002, and Associate Professor since 2002.
