Job Description

Bald Head Island Conservancy: Director of Conservation

Summary:
The Bald Head Island Conservancy seeks a full time Director of Conservation.  This position translates science to coastal communities and requires a PhD in marine, earth, environmental, ecological sciences or a policy background with research experience.  The responsibilities include: 1) Providing scientific expertise for environmental decision making; 2) Working as staff leader in a public-private partnership; 3) Establishing and supervising monitoring and management plans; 3) Working with academic institutions to develop research and education programs; 4) Manage a staff that includes volunteers and interns; 6) Establish a network of coastal communities to communicate sustainable solutions.  The Director will connect with the community, be flexible in job duties while meeting the broader needs of the organization in addition to the specific requirements of the position.  Please send cover letter, C.V., and 3 letters of recommendation to Dr. Suzanne E.
