Capitalism

Over the last 10 years I have raised $4+ million and directed programs that have significantly and positively impacted the School of Business. The 2004 Kauffman Foundation entrepreneurship grant led to the creation of the Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise (ESE) program across the university, now its largest interdisciplinary minor. This program effectively introduced facets of business education across the university while simultaneously expanding course options for business students.

The 2008 BB&T Foundation capitalism grant led to new course development, many annual broadening experiences for business students, and in 2013 to the incorporation of the "Business In Context" free markets concept into the school's strategic plan. Both programs have created compelling opportunities for student engagement, enhanced opportunities for faculty teaching and research, and an enhanced reputation for the School of Business. Through this grant I also established and built the BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism.
