Candidates should have a Ph.D. in economics, business, history, geography,
sociology, anthropology or a related field; they should have a demonstrated

non-traditional education, and a dedication to individual mentoring of
students.

Qualifications include: a Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment;

in Individualized Study: student-designed concentrations, intensive
advisement and mentoring, experiential learning and student-centered
teaching. Our courses link debates from the great books tradition with
current scholarship, contemporary issues, alternative canons and the broad
spectrum of arts practice. The Gallatin School is strongly committed to
building a diverse community among our faculty, staff and students.

Please send letter of application and curriculum vitae only, no later than
February 15, 2004, to Chair, Faculty Search Committee, Gallatin School of
