How has the recognition of the "error of [your] ways" affected the results
of the Cockshott/Cottrell/Michaelson empirical work? That is, have you
recalculated using the above understanding and has there been a
significant change in the conclusions re "Testing Marx"?

The funny stuff may be as a result of my starting to
use the windows 95 email system. It all looks fine
on my machine, but I will switch back to eudora for
this one.
On the substantive issue, we published a reply to
Maniatis in issue 59 of capital and class. The
reply included recalculated figures for the years
1970..89. The ammendments we made were in response
to other criticisms by Maniatis which we took to
be more serious than the one over whether v
should be included in the capital stock. These
corrections affected the absolute level of some
of our graphs but not their shape. None of the
conclusions had to be altered.
