Ajit Sinha, who most listmembers are familiar with from PEN-L and
elsewhere, is our latest addition.
I asked Ajit to give a description of his current activities, research,
etc. that he would be willing to share with the list. Rather than

I'm currently teaching at the department of
economics at University of Newcastle in Australia. Did my Ph.D on the topic
'The Concept of Value in Marx's Economic Writings: A Critique' from
SUNY-Buffalo. Before that I studied at Delhi School of Economics. My
dissertation topic is quite self-explanatory about my research interest. My
attempt has been to develop a Marxian synthesis of Althusser and Sraffa.
Soon I intend to embark upon a new research project (the value project is
pretty much over), which will deal with the question of causality and
non-linearity. You could mention that recently I co-edited with Paul Z an
special issue of Research in Political Economy entitled 'Latest Development
in Marxist Theory'. I have been closely associated with URPE for about 8
years, and have served as member of the editorial board of RRPE. I'm also a
member of editorial board of 'Encyclopedia of Political Economy' being
published by Routledge. And was a founding member of the editorial board of
'Research and Society'-- a graduate journal published by the graduate group
in marxist studies at SUNY-Buffalo. In my teen-age days, back in Patna,
India, I was also associated or rather was a founding member of the
editorial board of a political Hindi Magazine called 'Prakria'. Now, I know
