False Dilemma
Taking the Contrary for the Contradictory is a substitution of an opposite for a negative. For instance: "Whoever isn't with me is against me."
This is a species of false dilemma, where two or more possibilities are displayed as absolute, eliminating other possibilities from consideration. Excluded middle is another species of false dilemma, in which two opposite extremes are displayed as sole alternatives, eliminating the possibilities that lie in between those extremes, e.g. "America: Love It or Leave It" (slogan). "In 1964, it's the ballot or the bullet" (Malcolm X).
