If the point of your example is that nominally self-employed workers don't
do better than those subsumed under capital in at least the formal sense, I
agree entirely. Indeed there's an isomorphism theorem lurking behind my
argument that says at best we should expect them to be no less exploited
than their subsumed counterparts; it's just that the self-employed
exploited indirectly through, e.g., the interest payments on their trucks.
