If one wants to present Marx's perspectives on commodities and value,
one can not legitimately use examples from the "field of condensed
matter physics" to make that presentation unless one can demonstrate
that he used the same method as that used in this applied field of
physics. More generally, if one wants to comprehend the meaning of
a concept in Marx (rather than whether that concept can be thought of
as being scientifically valid using contemporary methods), one
has to attempt to develop and comprehend the logic that he himself
used.
