In [6186], Riccardo asked:

Well ... I believe that Althusser influenced both the social structure
of accumulation (SSA) and regulationist schools of thought. And,
of course, DMG was a leading member of the former group.

More interesting, perhaps, would be to ask whether or how Colletti's
influence on David shaped to some degree his perspectives on political
economy.

Was there, for example, a neo-Kantian and positivist element to his
defense of econometrics as a tool of empirical analysis for Marxians?

btw, would anyone care to defend the use of econometrics by Marxists?

Relatedly -- is econometrics necessarily tied to marginalism or can it be
remolded by heterodox (non-marginalist) economists?

Relatedly -- what are the philosophical underpinnings of econometric
theory?

Any takers?

In solidarity, Jerry
