Andre Gunder Frank wrote a 1991 essay on why he
thought the war against Iraq represented the beginning
of a "THIRD WORLD WAR."

In a recent post to the "world systems network" Frank
claimed that the present war against Iraq -- as well as the
wars against Afghanistan and Yugoslavia -- should be viewed
as a "continuation" of the 1991 war:

Do others agree with his thesis that the 1991 and 2003 wars
against Iraq represent, or potentially represent, the beginnings
of World War 3? Or is his thesis an alarmist over-reaction?

In solidarity, Jerry
