Andre Gunder Frank wrote a 1991 essay on why he thought the war against Iraq represented the beginning of a "THIRD WORLD WAR." In a recent post to the "world systems network" Frank claimed that the present war against Iraq -- as well as the wars against Afghanistan and Yugoslavia -- should be viewed as a "continuation" of the 1991 war: http://csf.colorado.edu/mail/wsn/2003/msg00473.html Full essay at: http://csf.colorado.edu/agfrank/gulf_war.html Do others agree with his thesis that the 1991 and 2003 wars against Iraq represent, or potentially represent, the beginnings of World War 3? Or is his thesis an alarmist over-reaction? In solidarity, Jerry
