Too many people to respond to at once. If others want to engage Ajit
and Howard on money and David on Venezuela, that would be great.
Moreover, it would doubtless be more profound that what I shall
eventually have to say.

I shall return to these questions of what the difference is between
a numeraire and money (I'll return to Heiner Ganssman), whether money
should be represented as formally similar to other commodities in a
set of simultaneous equations (Fred and I have already discussed this
at length), metaphysical questions about substance and attribute
relations and the relation between substantial and phenomenal form,
and of course the nature of Chavez's regime. I'll have to think about
what Howard is saying--it's new to me; I think there is already a
reply to what I think Ajit is getting at (especially in regards to
concrete and abstract labor time) in Alfredo's section on Sraffa and
neo Ricardian thought in his brilliantly lucid The Value of Marx
(Alfredo Saad Filho); and I think David Yaffe and I (or rather Heinz
Sonntag) are talking past each other.

Not quite sure where I should start, but have to get a lot else done
today. Will return. The thoughts of others most welcome.

Rakesh
