Dear OPE comrades, Can anyone help my politically involved colleague? Much appreciated. David David Laibman
attached mail follows:
Hi, David: Here I am in (recently-flooded) Marietta. Ohio. Marcia must be off in another site in this important swing state, and I hope she's doing OK. One of the things I'm doing here is writing letters to the editors of local papers (which are published over the names of Marietta Democrats), and there is a letter in today's Times (Marietta Times, that is) that says "our national rate of unemployment is now lower than that of Clinton during his 1996 bid for re-election." Could you quickly evaluate this statement (by a Bushite writer) and give me the supporting or refuting data -- or could you find one of your fellow-economists who would know this field, and have them rush it to me at both of the following e-mail addresses: MARVGET@earthlink.net and (especially) jwolf@ohiodems.org (which gets read here before I go on line). Thanks, urgently. -- Marv ----------------------------------------------------- This email has been automatically scanned for viruses. However, it might still contain undetectable virus(es).
