I believe that the essay mentioned by John Bellamy Foster was a reply to Mario Cogoy. Cogoy then wrote two further replies. Fred Moseley edited an issue of International Journal of Political Economy (vol 17, no. 2 1987--off the top of my head) in which the whole exchange appears--Cogoy's critique, Sweezy's reply, Cogoy's two further replies. Sweezy himself broke off the exchange, so John's book on The Theory of Monopoly Capitalism is the most important counter-critique from the perspective of the Monthly Review School.
