> One of the leaders arrested following the protests was Berhanu Nega. > URPE types may know Berhanu either from his days as a grad student at > New School in the eighties or as a professor at Bucknell University in > the nineties. An irony: I remember another New School economics student from Ethiopia in the 1980s -- Mulu Ketsela. When she was at the NSSR, she was a Marxist whose area of specializations were development and trade, with a focus on agriculture and peasant studies. It seems as if Mulu is now the State Minister for Finance and Economic Development in Ethiopia and is an alternate member of the World Bank Board of Executive Directors. In solidarity, Jerry
