An irony: I remember another New School economics student from Ethiopia
in the 1980s -- Mulu Ketsela. When she was at the NSSR, she was a
Marxist whose area of specializations were development and trade, with a
focus
on agriculture and peasant studies. It seems as if Mulu is now the State
Minister
for Finance and Economic Development in Ethiopia and is an alternate member
of the World Bank Board of Executive Directors.

In solidarity, Jerry
