Today marks the 12th annniversary of the founding of the Outline on Political Economy mailing list. Thanks to all of you, this list has become perhaps the major venue internationally among Marxians for the ongoing discussion of controversial topics in political economy. If the last year is any indication, this will continue for the foreseeable future. We certainly showed no signs of slowing down in the last year since the volume was consistently high and we added several new members. I will provide some statistics at another time. But, it's all quite transparant: * You can at any time see who is on the list along with receiving a copy of their email addresses by sending a "REVIEW OPE-L" message to <listserv@sus.csuchico.edu>. * A listing of current subscribers is the same as was sent in May: <http://ricardo.ecn.wfu.edu/~cottrell/ope/archive/0705/0015.html> * It's alsp pretty easy to see from our archives at <http://ricardo.ecn.wfu.edu/~cottrell/ope/archive> how many posts have been authored each month and in the last year. The same information can be used to calculate participation rates. * If you look in the archives under "OPE-L Administrator" as author, you can see who was added in the last year (Dogan, Roberto F, Michael S, Alejandro A). * Not all news is good news, though. You can also see from the archives that Mike Lebowitz resigned from the list at the beginning of 2007 and another member has been suspended. I wish to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your participation in this joint project. I especially want to thank the members of the Advisory Committee (Alejandro VB, Fred, Allin) for their participation in the administration of the list - a participation which has frequently required that they expend larger quantities of time and energy than they or I anticipated. Long live OPE-L! In solidarity, Jerry
