Out of respect for Gary and others, I will NOT reply on-list to Michael S's message.
I have replied OFF-list to him, though, because I do not want him (or others) to
feel that their comments and objections are being ignored.  I will - only upon request -
forward that reply to other listmembers with the understanding that it is to
be treated as confidential.  Should others wish to discuss matters off-list, I 
am available.
 
Now, let us please get back to discussions of theory and politics.
