Hi Dave Z:

I would emphasize a missing word: money is a *necessary* form of
appearance of exchange-value, value, surplus value, and profit
(and it represents a necessary moment in the transformation of
surplus-value into capital). The point here is that money
insinuates itself into every aspect of social relations among economic
agents. It is not simply a matter of obscuring social relations; it
is a matter of how social relations come in part to be expressed
through money. On the basis of what has been said, though, it's
hard to tell whether we agree or disagree on matters of theoretical
substance or simply emphasis.

In solidarity, Jerry
