I.e. a social theory should accurately specify the parameters of its own domain and not over-reach by also attempting to explain domains which existed prior to the coming into being of the subject of the theory. The theory and science of evolution seeks to explain the origin and evolution of species. It hence has great generality. That doesn't mean, though, that the same concept of evolution is the guiding organizational principle of capitalism. In solidarity, Jerry
