Whilst as you say, it is not primarily a nationalist question, certain 
elements of
national culture do enter into this.

I am a scientist not a philosopher, but the impression I get from what 
modern
philosophy that I do read, is that the style of arguments in Michael's 
documents
is striking different from that in modern English or even French philosophy
texts.

This impression may, of course be because I have tended to read 
philosophers of science
rather than those interested in theology. Since you have studied 
philosophy both
in Britain and in Germany you would be better placed to comment on this 
than me.
