Hi Dave Z; An interesting, but unsurprising, story. It has long been known that the capitalist class is socially isolated from other classes. In effect, they live in their own little world or, if you prefer, bubble. This is becoming even more the case - internationally - with gated communities (in some cases protected with armed private security forces). They, know, of course, that inequality exists but they rationalize it in various ways (many of which are given in the article). Mainstream (neo-neo-classical) economic theory also provides the pretense of a 'scientific' rationalization' for their wealth.
