Jerry, remember what a “liberal” mean in USA, i.e., a “social-democrat”.
Maybe not as progressive as you would like, but a progressive after all!

Asunto: [OPE] Paul Krugman wins Nobel
Even by Nobel standards, the rationale for awarding the Prize
to Krugman is particularly weak: there is a heterodox literature
on economies of scale and international trade and economic
geography that goes at least as far back as the early 1980s.
That literature wasn't a rationalization for "free trade", though -
and _that_ was specifically cited by the Academy in its statement
awarding the Prize to Krugman. Perhaps it' a sign of the times that
this year's awared was given to someone with the "Conscience
of a Liberal" (ewe; yuck).
