Jerry,

This is supposed to be a scientific listserv. Allin made a point-blank
statement and I called on him for evidence. If he doesn't want to provide
it, then the remark should be seen as non-contributory to the purpose of
this listserv which you established.

If I made the blanket assertion that the profit rate rose from 1965-75 in
the context of discussing the empirical profit rate in the U.S., and I
failed to provide any justification, wouldn't you call on me for evidence?
If I claimed the marxist-leninists were ultimately responsible for the
overthrow of the Shah, wouldn't you call on me for evidence?

On my taking it too personal, I accept your point. But after all the work
I've done on it, it does bother me that a comrade on this list would assert
something like that without any consideration that more than one person on
this list has spent hundreds and hundreds of hours on the topic. I used
myself as a example to drive home the point.

I have no problem with disagreements; I have problems with blanket
assertions on important topics. Thus I asked for evidence. Why did I
mention evidence for the identities of the alleged hijackers? Because the
9/11 Commission Report did not provide evidence and I was baiting Allin to
overcome the lack of evidence therein. So far, he hasn't and he is not
alone; few supporters of the Bush administration story of 9/11 that bin
Laden was behind 9/11 want to actually say WHY they accept that story.
