And what is the cut off point between 'advanced' and 'less advanced'?

"This can be measured in a variety of ways - one way favored by
many Marxists concerns the development of the forces of production within
individual economies. Mainstream economists might point to the level of
industrialization or other economic growth and development indicators."

Again, for any indicator you use, you will need to explain what the cut off point is - and why.

"Agreed, but the wealth within the oil-producing nations can be
explained by another process - that related to rent."

An there's no such thing as rent and rentiers in imperialist nations?

"Harkening back to the early stages of
capitalism, landowners (also rent recipients) were well known for conspicuous
consumption - just like Saudi oil sheiks have that reputation now."

I hear many traders in Wall Street and in the City of London also have a reputation for conspicuous consumption. With so much 'harkening back to the early stages of capitalism', we'll soon have to conclude imperialism no longer exists.
