[OPE] Question about books that are sound introductions to economics

I would recommend Janos Kornai, "The Socialist System". And Alec Nove, "An
Economic History of the USSR".

I would also recommend books on the New Marxist Exploiting Class, the
parasitic class of leftist academics and managers screwing a surplus out of
the workers while using "Marxist levels of abstraction" as a cover. A useful
introductory discussion is Marcel van der Linden's survey "Western Marxism
and the Soviet Union" (now available from Haymarket Books).

If you can understand those three books you've come a long way.
