If this is the author's honest view, it's incredibly naïve. All militaries are there to be used.

It's already been used against innocent civilians at home - so they'll be 'nice' to everyone else?

Here's an easy forecast - Chinese militarism will grow, and will become a major issue in international affairs.

Here's another - most of the Western left will be unprepared - they've been myopically focusing on 'neo-liberalism' instead.
