There is no such thing as “free” competition. By definition, competition requires rules that are normally enforced by the State, e.g. a watchdog of competition. Its goal is to preserve certain rules to avoid practices that are normally deemed “unfair” in the sense that they would provide for market power to that firm engaged in some kind of price control. Of course this is an ideological construct! Just as OPE-L is. But it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exit! A.
