On August 28, I -- among other things -- proposed that Barkley Rosser be
given access to the archives. Paul Z in [OPE-L:86] supported giving
Barkley conditional access to the archives. Others -- including Allin,
Alan, Andrew K, Mike L and Michael -- (in addition to commenting on other
related matters) supported this proposal. Chris A has communicated to me
that he has no objections to opening the archives but that he wants to
know "for the future under exactly what rules I will be contributing."

We *HAVE* to make a decision re Barkley and we have to do it *SOON*.
Anything less would be perceived by Barkley as being quite inconsiderate
if not outright rude. I.e. he expects and deserves a prompt answer to
his request.

Here's what I will do (exercising my prerogative as list co-ordinator): if
no one objects on-list in the next week then I will notify Barkley that
he can access our archives subject to his acceptance of the conditions
listed by Paul Z.
