Dear Chai-on, Jurriaan and other friends;

Chai-on;
I wonder if my recent files still of virus danger for your machine. I am
worried. Some friends could read them without trouble. I could open your
file on gold and paper money and look forward to reading it more carefully
as soon as time permit. My instant reactions are three. (1) Our book
Political Economy of Money and Finance (Macmillan and St.Martin's, 1999)
should not be neglected on this topic. Costas in particular was concerned on
this issue in our book. (2) The superiority in a sense of paper money may
contain a greater danger for instability. (3)The historical necessity to
tranasform the types of money must also be interesting to reconsider.

Jurriaan and other friends;
Let me mention that my book Political Economy for Socialism (Macmillan and
St.Martin's, 1995) tried to argue at least some points you raised on
socialism. Will you please reread it and advise me on further points to go
or reconsider? I shall certainly be interested to join the conference if a
travel fund is somehow available.

All the best,
Makoto
