                 ASSOCIATION FOR HETERODOX ECONOMICS

                 THE OTHER ECONOMIC CONFERENCE, 2000

                        LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM

                           27 - 28 JUNE 2000

Papers on any aspect of heterodox economics, history of economic thought,
economic history, business history, alternative economic systems, social
economics, feminist economics, and economic policy are invited for the
Two-Day
The Other Economic Conference, 2000 of the Association for Heterodox
Economics.
Proposals for a session or a stream of two or three sessions are also
welcomed. Please send 3 copies of a 250 word abstract of each proposed
paper
to:

The abstracts will be judged by a committee consisting of

Paul Downward (Staffordshire University)
Alfredo Saad Filho (South Bank University)
Alan Freeman (University of Greenwich)
Fred Lee (De Montfort University)
Wendy Olsen (University of Bradford)
Andrew Trigg (Open University)

Notification of acceptance will be sent out by the end of January 2000.

The Conference is open to all heterodox economists whose research interests
and orientation are excluded from the RES Conference; and its purpose is to
encourage heterodox economists to come together and hear papers on topics
that really interest them.

The Conference will take place at the Open University Conference Centre,

Gray's Inn Road, London WC1x 8BP. It is located about 200m from King's
Cross
Railway Station. It will consist of 3 parallel tracks totalling 21 sessions
over two days. There will be two plenary sessions. The Conference will
start
at 9.00 a.m. and go to 7.30 p.m. on June 27, 2000 and start at 9.00 a.m. on
June
28, 2000 and end by 6.30 p.m.

Conference of Socialist Economists will have a literature table at the
Conference. Other publishers will be invited as well.

There will be a conference fee of 30.00 pounds (and 15 pounds for
post-graduate
students).
