• no optical, Ethernet, VGA
• 2 USB ports, one Always On but 2.0 (vs three in T430s)
• USB ports not color coded (yellow for USB 2.0, blue for USB 3.0 SS), both black

• reset button on bottom (why not hold down power 10 seconds?)
• no dock connector, have to use USB 3.0 dock
• no slice battery
• no free sleeve, mini Display to HDMI like Asus
• only some configuration has a "free" USB 2.0-Ethernet adapter
• no Thunderbolt (same port as miniDisplayPort) like i7 T430s
• stop gap trackpad design - lose T420s/T430s texture trackpad and buttons, but not T431/Helix 5-click Trackpad with no button either

• terrible PgUp PgDn, Home, End "new" keyboard layout, they belongs in a cluster in correct physical affordance position. smaller than previous super-large (still slight larger than other keys) Del, Esc

• supposedly there is an adapter to use old round tip AC adapter to go to new rectangular 0B47046 ThinkPad Slim Power Conversion Cable, no longer listed in lenovo website for some reason. $26.98-$32.99 street
• rectangular AC port not magnetic like MBP or Surface
• no latch on lid
• no DVD software like WinDVD (2010 is terrible though, can even easily show total length) - no internal drive (comes with one if you buy the external USB drive?) Windows 8 Enterprise does not come with Media Center pack, only Pro (free before 2013/01/31, $9.99 ERP afterwards)
• no DVD authoring/burning software like Corel DVD Factory, BurnNow/RecordNow
• no Ultrabay (Slim) - no second hard drive tray, bay 3-cell battery
• no mSATA? so no three drives like T430s
• no ExpressCard/34
• junk bloatware on OEM
• Lenovo QuickLaunch start menu replacement for Windows 8 good idea, not quite good enough, no cascade menu, recent files etc.

Microsoft Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool said invalid ISO. use ISO2DISC. cannot boot Acronis 2013 Plus WinPE 4.0 32-bit under UEFI, nothing. 64-bit USB boots http://forum.acronis.com/forum/35238 got error under UEFI. clean WinPE 64-bit boots fine.

32-bit WinPE with Acronis 2013 Plus build 5551 can only boot in BIOS.

native *nix Acronis 2013 Plus USB got cannot detect graphics error in UEFI CSM on (text) or CSM off (stuck on graphics splash screen). Cannot hit F11 to get to parameter line. put vga=ask during recovery media build, same.

(can use YUMI? but only for BIOS) apply hotfix for UEFI SecureBoot fix it. http://kb.acronis.com/content/38965 got auto assign IP eth0 using USB 2.0 to Fast Ethernet, no DHCP IP. cannot detect USB 3.0 to GigE in either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port.

build 6514 2013/04/04 supposedly support WinPE 4.0 http://www.acronis.com/support/updates/changes.html?p=12831 cannot see SSD, do not use. fixed in testing build 6520, wait for see forum for discussion http://forum.acronis.com/forum/41161
