V. Premises [legetai] of enthymemes

    1. Premises are either necessarily true vs. usually true
    2. Premises are derived from probabilities [eikota] and signs [sêmeia]
    1. eikota are seemingly or usually true
    2. sêmeia are necessary [tekmêria] provided they are syllogistically valid
    3. validity is determined by proper relation between the universal and the particular
