SCHOLARSHIP IN MUSICOLOGY & THEORY:

Women and Music.

Books.

Currently, I am preparing a critical edition of Amy Beach's songs. This task involves tracking down any manuscripts that exist and comparing them with the first editions, which were published between 1885 and 1941. I'm tracking down many of the first editions, too, for they have been out of print for many years.

I spend time at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Missouri at Kansas City, the primary repositories of Beach's songs.

Articles.

"Reclaiming Gender in Modernist Music," in NWSA Journal 15.3 (Fall-Winter 2003-2004).
