In reply to OPE-L 4855: Julian, you're right to clarify that my analogy is to the revolutionary nature of the Copernican revolution, not to the details of the Copernican system or its founder's motivations. That is, when we refer to the "Copernican revolution," we mean the "rediscover[y of] a paradigm which has been ridiculed where it has not merely been ignored," as you say.
