this is either an "intellectual" illiteracy and blindness or takes us to be blind and naive. are counter revolutıons to be convinced or fought back as the rule of any form of class struggle requires? i prefer the way fidel has taken. yes, we suppress counter revolutionaries. if we do not do that we will even not be tolerated. our good will should not be misused. there is not democracy as such. there is either bourgeos democracy or proletarian. the point is not that they suppress. this is a natural part of class struggle. the point is what they aim at. yes, we suppress counter revolutionaries. we are proud of that because we want the humanity to be emancipated, whereas bourgeois democrats want to keep alive the contemporary barbarism.

D. Yaffe, can you offer a quotation from my posts in support of your accusation that I back imperialism or the oppressors over the oppressed? I assume you have clearly identified these items that allegedly uncover my undemocratic nature…
Please, let’s be serious. Let’s try to avoid propaganda which only satisfies the thirst of retaliation on behalf of your Stalinist militancy. OPE is intended to be beyond this, isn’t it?

I totally share Jerry's view. There is little point in continuing the discussion without understanding class interests. Democracy is simply a bourgeois concept in Alejandro's hands - it stands for the status quo - the rule of the imperialists, the oppressors over the oppressed.

Alejandro:
The problem is that you don't recognize what a dictatorship is and isn't.
What you consistently refuse to do is introduce *class* into the analysis
of the meaning of democracy and dictatorship. Because you don't employ
class analysis, you are trapped in a narrow BOURGEOIS understanding of
the meaning of democracy - you fail to grasp the meaning of BOURGEOIS
DEMOCRACY. The many millions of people who don't share the US- and
Euro-Centric liberal capitalist interpretation of democracy and the goals
of international imperialism understand that that *any* government which
is in favor in practice of self-determination and governance and control
of the economy by working people will be denounced by imperialism and
its defenders as being dictatorships. The
question isn't who is or isn't
an apologist for "left wing dictators"; the question is who is an apologist
for capital and imperialism.
