Hi David,

Hey, I'm not an advisor to the stars or anything here, as a matter of fact I was just busy tidying up my apartment with an assistant (mindful of ecology). I'm am not disputing Mr Chavez's right to be strident, that's his business for which he must take responsibility. I was querying the reasoning or motivation behind the style.

The question to me was whether his communication style is really "effective" with respect to foreign relations, or not. I personally have some doubts about that, and therefore I think of a good international relations PR unit, i.e. a bunch of professionals who really know what they are doing in that field, as a support. Many painful experiences taught me that that a good communication policy is a policy which really works, i.e. it obtains the desired results (and not something different), and thus proves itself. I'm not an expert (insofar as you can be) but I understand the value of it.

I'm not convinced that it is true that "To think a good international PR unit will move the rich and powerful of this world is unbelievable naivity". But anyway - apart from the fact that the richer people are (materially and spiritually), the more likely they have considerations of of quality time (quality experience) and the form in which people express themselves - the rich and the powerful are not the only audience we are talking about.

Jurriaan
